HISP Tanzania is an organization established to empower governments, organizations and communities to improve the quality and efficiency of services through appropriate use of ICT for inclusive, technological and social-economic development in Africa. HISP Tanzania focuses on design and implementation of sustainable and integrated information architectures and system solutions that are based on free and open source software philosophy and open standards. HISP Tanzania promotes use of information for evidence-based planning and services improvement. HISPTZ supports local innovation, empowerment, and entrepreneurship skills developments. is part of the global Health Information Systems Programme (HISP) network led by the University of Oslo, Norway.  It has been involved in projects implementation in interventions and areas including: Tuberculosis, HIV/AIDS, Malaria, Agriculture, Water and sanitation, Key and Vulnerable Population (KVPs), Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVCs), Health systems strengthening, Health commodities and supply chain management, Reproductive, Maternal, Neonatal, Child and Adolescent Health (RMNCAH) – including Family Planning, Social advocacy, Conservation of natural resources. We have supported projects and worked with partners in Kenya, Uganda, Malawi, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Ethiopia, Swaziland, Lesotho, South Sudan.
